What is the surface like? Is it really wipe-clean?

Yes. This edition is built from repurposed rubberized fire attack hose, so the working surface is a smooth, sealed rubber skin. Spills bead up, oil and grease wipe off, and powders or solvents do not soak in. A damp shop towel handles 95% of cleanups.

How do I care for the mat?

Just wipe it down. Damp cloth for everyday use; mild dish soap and a soft brush for heavier grease or carbon. Air-dry flat or roll loose to dry. No special conditioners needed — the rubber surface is the same stuff that sees the fireground.

HD - Firehose Edition — rubberized inner core of fire hose. Maximum durability, fabric face.

HD - Rubber Hose (this one) — repurposed rubber attack hose. Heaviest duty, wettest jobs, fully wipe-clean.

What sizes are available?

Two sizes: 36" x 15" and 24" x 15". Both roll up to roughly a 3-4" diameter x 15" long bundle and secure with integrated 550 paracord tie loops.

How heavy is it?

Heavier than our fire-hose editions — that mass is what helps the rubber lay flat and stay put on a bench. The 24" sits around 2-3 lbs and the 36" around 3-5 lbs depending on the donor hose. Still rolls compact for transport.

Is this really made in the USA?

Yes. Every Drop Zone Mat is cut, bound, and assembled by hand in our Texas shop from authentic decommissioned U.S. fire hose. Mil-spec binding, 550 paracord ties, made in the USA.
