How many cards does it hold?

The Sergeant comfortably holds 4 to 8 cards. Fit varies slightly because each piece is cut from real fire hose, and hose thickness ranges by manufacturer. If you carry 6 or fewer cards, expect a snug, low-profile fit. Carrying 7 to 8 means a slightly thicker stack but still slim compared to a traditional bifold.

Is this really made from used fire hose?

Yes. We source decommissioned fire hose retired from active service across the United States — hose that fought real fires, took real abuse, and got pulled from rotation. We clean it, cut it, and stitch it by hand into the wallet you carry. Recycled Firefighter was founded by a firefighter.

How does the cash strap work?

The 3-inch mil-spec elastic cash strap on the exterior holds your folded bills (folded into thirds) snugly against the wallet. Slide cash under or pull it out fast — no zipper, no clasp, no fuss. An elastic back band on some models gives you quick access to receipts or extra cash.

Will my wallet have markings on it?

It might. Repurposed fire hose comes with character — original department lettering, scuffs from service, color variations, unique wear patterns. These are not defects. Limited Edition (flame icon) pieces tend to have the most distinctive markings. Standard pieces are usually cleaner but can still show authentic hose character.
